Common ear disease

Common Ear Diseases

There are some common diseases of the ear that may affect a person.

Ear Infections

Of them all, an ear infection is one of the most common ear problems that we come across. Ear infections are inflammatory processes occurring in the outer, middle, or inner ear and resulting in painful feelings or temporary loss of hearing ability.

Tinnitus

When you have some ringing, buzzing or whistling sensations in the ear, it is called tinnitus. This condition is very common to many people and it greatly negatively impacts their quality of life.

Hearing Loss

Hearing Loss, permanent or temporary, complete or partial, can strike anyone irrespective of age, and it can be rapid or happen over a span of time. Age, surrounding noise, or any other factors may all contribute to this problem. If it concerns old age, loud noises, and so forth, our specialists perform a comprehensive assessment.

Meniere’s Disease

Meniere’s disease affects the inner part of the ear and manifests itself through attacks of nauseating dizziness or spinning of the body accompanied by an impaired sense of hearing and tinnitus.  The condition cannot be cured, but once more, we at Hunter Valley Audiology will be with you to find out how your symptoms can be adequately controlled and how to improve certain factors to better accommodate you.
